A POLICY OF TOLERANCE
The USIP recognized the low recognition and acceptance of Christians for Muslims. USIP clearly exerted so much effort to study in depth the Southern Philippine question. And found hope that this low acceptance can somehow be reformed. USIP conducted many fora, seminars, trainings, workshops, from Manila to Mindanao. With some little success, they report but with higher hopes than the one they had originally started.
Actually, this is much more quintessentially expressed in Prof. Jalal ud-din de los Santos’ concept that in order for the conflicts in Mindanao to be resolved, there has to be a unified policy advocacy of tolerance for the Muslims in Southern Philippines.
